Alison Krauss And Union Station Bring Their Fresh Brand Of Bluegrass To Santa Barbara
Alison Krauss & Union Station swept away Santa Barbarians during their sold-out show at the Santa Barbara Bowl, June 24th, as one of their more than fifty stops across the country.
Alison Krauss, one of the most anticipated bluegrass artists to come through this area, started in the music industry at a very young age. But, her performance at the Bowl proved that she is performing better than ever. Krauss joined the Union Station band in the late 1980s and together they created perfect harmony that blew the crowd away.
The band featured Jerry Douglas on the Dobro. The well-orchestrated balance of strings, percussion, and Krauss’ still-unbeatable melancholic voice just took the whole Bowl under a spell. They headlined songs from previous albums, but, also plucked some from their latest work, Paper Airplanes, which was released last April. With the height of acclaim for their outstanding performances this year, Alison Krauss & Union Station will face even greater awe from their fans in years to come.
That is Dan Tyminski, not Jerry
Douglas in that last picture…
Thank you for the correction!!!:)
