American Idol will be running their annual Emmy Award winning Idol Gives Back TV charity fundraiser next week, with proceeds being aimed at helping International and US charities mostly geared at helping children.
This star studded event, which airs on FOX on April 21, will feature Carrie Underwood, Sir Elton John, The Black Eyed Peas, Mary J Blige, and Alicia Keys amongst others (Underwood will also be at the CMA Awards on CBS this Sunday night).
Idol Gives Back, which draws on the 25 million-plus audience that watches the annual American Idol singing competition, raised more than $140 million in 2008 and 2007 but was not held last year because of the U.S. economic recession.
