Brat Pack Back! Watch the Trailer for the Upcoming Andrew McCarthy/HULU Documentary

Appearances by Rob Lowe, Demi Moore and Ally Sheedy Highlight The Preview

40 years later, it’s time to “clear the air.”

Former teen heartthrob and St. Elmo’s Fire star Andrew McCarthey is digging up some “ancient history” by opening up a portal to some old relationships and maybe even opening up some old wounds in his “BRATS” documentary. The film world premieres at the 2024 Tribeca Film Festival and is scheduled to hit Hulu streaming on June 13. Check out the trailer below and let us know what you think!

Written, produced, and directed by McCarthy, the actor gets together with Brat Pack alumn and even a few of it’s honorable fringe members. Although many of his former co-stars did not agree to be in the doc, he did unite with a sizeable and powerful group of 80’s influencers- including Emilio EstevezRob LoweDemi MooreJon CryerLea Thompson, and Timothy Hutton.

“I hadn’t seen Rob Lowe in 30 years, Emilio Estevez in 35 years,” he told Salon. “Demi Moore and Ally Sheedy, I hadn’t seen them in so long. I went to each of them and said, ‘Hey, will you talk to me about this? Because we were members of a club that we didn’t ask to join that no one else was. We’re the only ones that know what it was like.'”

Estevez was hesitant to talk about the Brat Pack, but told McCarthy that “It was time that we clear the air on a couple things.”

McCarthy already dug deep into his coming-of-age stories in his 2021 book “Brat: An 80’s Story.”

“I hadn’t seen Rob Lowe in 30 years, Emilio Estevez in 35 years,” he told Salon. “Demi Moore and Ally Sheedy, I hadn’t seen them in so long. I went to each of them and said, ‘Hey, will you talk to me about this? Because we were members of a club that we didn’t ask to join that no one else was. We’re the only ones that know what it was like.'”
