LA Galaxy: David Beckham Tears Achilles Tendon, World Cup In Jeopardy

England midfielder David Beckham has torn his left Achilles tendon in AC Milan’s 1-0 win over Chievo, according to the Italian club’s coach Leonardo. There is a very good chance that he will miss the World Cup in South Africa this year.

The 34-year-old was hoping to be part of England’s World Cup squad in June. Former LA Galaxy star (currently on loan to AC Milan) Beckham is bidding to become the first England player to play in four successive World Cup finals. He shares the record of three with Bobby Moore and Peter Shilton.
