Lakers: Phil Jackson Passes Pat Riley As Winningest Coach In Team History
The Los Angeles Lakers beat the Charlotte Bobcats, 99-97 tonight. The win gave Lakers Head Coach Phil Jackson the most wins in team history, passing Pat Riley. Lamar Odom led the Lakers in scoring with 19 points while Andrew Bynum had 17 points and 14 rebounds.
Jackson surpassed previous record holder Riley with the win, his 534th victory with the Lakers. It’s been a great run here for us in L.A.,” Jackson told reporters after picking up the 1,079th win of his career, fifth on the all-time list.
Jackson’s big win came one game after Kobe Bryant became the Lakers all-time leading scorer.
