The Beach Boys Bring Good Vibrations To The Santa Barbara Bowl For Their 50th Anniversary Tour

The Santa Barbara crowd was a bit more sentimental and emotional on a gorgeous Memorial Day Monday, when The Beach Boys rolled into town. This was the band’s 50th Anniversary Tour, featuring Brian Wilson, Mike Love, Al Jardine, Bruce Johnston and David Marks- touring together for the first time in over 20 years! The legendary band performed two separate sets, featuring almost 50 songs.
The Bowl was obviously filled with a much older crowd, but, surprisingly- it was flavored with quite a bit of youth, showing up to get a look at the band that has given them so much great music. Stories were overheard, between concert-goers, about the “first time” they had seen the band. Fathers could also be seen, taking the next generation to see their favorite band.
The night did not disappoint. Whatever skills the original band members had lost, due to age- was made up for by their more-than-capable backing band. The band will be playing The Hollywood Bowl, this weekend.
